Jose Orraca passed away on September 19, 2009. Forthright and direct, Orraca blazed a path that others followed; he was a pioneer in the field of Photographic Conservation. During his lifetime, others extrapolated from his body of work and now in his passing are finding a way to acknowledge his generosity and contribution. In Honor of Margaret Salone Barbagallo

Margaret Salone Barbagallo was born on lower east side of Manhattan on October
5, 1929. The middle of three daughters Marge was a second generation
American born to (Anna) Nunziana
Castro Salone (born 1906 on the Bowery) and (Joseph) Guisappe Salone,
who owned the Common Real Estate Company on Nassau Street near Chambers
(just east of what is now the World Trade Center).
