REHOUSING YOUR COLLECTION

Not Straw, Not Sticks, Not Brick - The Three Little Pigs Get A New House.

In museums, the place where an art object resides is called its “housing.” It is a safe place designed to take into account the unique needs of the art object with a long range outlook for its health.

A proper housing for animation art presents its own unique challenges, due to the self destructive nature of the materials involved. There are not many simple answers or many generic solutions. Often each piece presents its own set of problems. The mediums vary from production to production. The history of how the art was previously cared for also affects the piece. As long as that is the case, specific care will always be the educated alternative for those seeking something more elaborate than a generic mat provided by a frame shop.

With this in mind, my animation art housings are custom made. Materials for each housing are chosen to coincide in harmony with the art, as well as, to regulate its well being. The negative affect of degradative particles generated by the cel sheets and the paper are reduced as an environment is created to help your art thrive.
