STAFF TRAINING IN ART HANDLING

To properly maintain a collection, it is important that employees be trained in the recommended techniques used to handle and store animation art. This includes those working in a gallery, museum, archive or library, but can also include those packing a collection for its relocation for short or long distances.

Accidents can be averted when proper guidance is given regarding which specific materials are known to be the most fragile and how to take steps to increase awareness for their handling and care.

Training on how to properly handle an individual or group of animation cels, on how many cels and/or drawings or backgrounds to put in a box, on what sort of interleaving to use and for how long are all considerations based on specific needs for your collection of art.
